Her complete series is awesome. I especially appreciate how tender her love scenes are without foul language and making it love, not porn. I love that she doesn't dwell on sex
and that there is actually a great fun story that touches on all her fabulous characters.
Great book, couldn't put it down and the next one looks too too exciting. Can't wait!
Janet Chapman hit another one out of the park! Her story telling flowed from paragraph to paragraph and it was difficult to put this book down each day. Spellbound Falls book 2 did not disappoint and looking forward to book 3!
One of my FAVORITE authors. I love anything Janet Chapman writes. This is such a fun series. A little bit of magic, a little bit of romance, and characters that make you want to be there with them. It was just a pleasure to read. In fact, I've read it and I've listened to it on Audible. The narrator does a great job with the different voices. You can't go wrong when you curl up with one of Janets books!
Like Janet Chapman... her characters are interesting and develop throughout her stories. I like her writing style and she doesn't necessarily get vulgar (I'd rather have interesting characters than tawdry sex scenes) and when she does get intimate it's female friendly. Haven't read a book by her that I didn't like !
I have always loved Janet Chapman's books. Her characters seem so real, and before you know it you're so involved with them, and the magic that she creates around them and in the story that you just don't want to put the book down. Her books aren't so wordy that and involved, an convoluted that you need to keep a score sheet of what's going on with whom, when, where, and how that you loose the real story line and plot; then you need to go back a reread to seen where you went wrong and lost track of everything. Her books are sheer entertainment and light fun with a good love story and magic that stretches your imagination to believe but still seems probable. I would recommend any and all of her books to anyone who loves a good romance, with just enough magic added in to make you wish that you were one of the characters.
Although Janet Chapman TRIES to write her books to stand alone, my personal opinion is to receive maximum enjoyment, you should read at least "Mystical Warrior" and "Spellbound Falls" prior to this book. The rich background information will improve this story's continuity. I read "Spellbound Falls" first and really appreciate that book better after reading "Mystical Warrior". Of course then you need to read the two previous "Midnight Bay" series books, and then ALL of her HIGHLANDER series to really get the feel of this alternate reality.
Ive been reading Janet for some tome now and she never fails to deliver. She writes in her "Lake Watch Readers" that she write her stories and hopes that her characters will live on forever through us,the readers, just as they live with her. I'm a single mom myself with two growing rowdy boys thanking God that he didn't see fit to give me girls! In any case, I'm always partial to the single mom stokers and this one touched me most. That Duncan could love all of them as if they were his... believe me ladies and gentleman, that is a single parent's dream come true! Janet really nailed this one to the wall just as she did with Robbie and Cat's story. Janet, if you're reading this, please take a moment to bow to the crowd cheering for just one more encore! You've painted a single parent's dream of a life mate not once but twice! I'm on pins and needles waiting to read about Caroline and Alec!
